Unmasking the Next Generation's Hall of Fame
All-Decade Teams
Since All-Decade Teams are chosen by members of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, there are few metrics more reliable as a predictor of future Hall of Famers. Roughly 65% of those honored on an All-Decade Team are eventually enshrined in Canton (with the exception of Special Teamers).
While All-Decade Teams generally capture the best players of each generation, there are All-Time greats who don't receive that particular honor. If a player's career happens to straddle two different decades, they may miss out on making the list on either one. Additionally, there are some positions like Quarterback where naming just two per decade inevitably leaves off great players.
Below we list the 15 greatest players who have not made an All-Decade Team:
- Patrick Mahomes
- Steve Young
- Andy Robustelli
- Dan Marino
- Lou Creekmur
- Kurt Warner
- Marshall Faulk
- Chuck Howley
- Drew Brees
- Jason Kelce
- Marcus Allen
- Mick Tingelhoff
- Jim Otto
- Henry Jordan
- Chris Hanburger
