1 comments so far (post your own)A great player in his era of the NFL, Cuff was an all around star. Averaged over 5 yards per rush and over 14 yards per reception in his career. In addition led the league in field goals made 4 times, made 156 out of 162 career extra points, and when he retired he was the Giants all time leading scorer. He was also a standout defensive player, intercepting 13 passes in his career, and in addition returned punts and kickoffs, averaging 12 and 25 yards respectively. He was a key member of a Giants team that made it to 4 NFL championship games during his 8 years there, including 3 of his first 5, winning the 1938 Title game vs Green Bay. He was selected to 3 Pro Bowls and was 1st team All Pro in 1941, 1943 and 1944, 2nd team in 1938 and 1939.. Teammates Ken Strong and Tuffy Leemans are in the HOF, Cuff belongs there also.
