2 comments so far (post your own)I do have a theory on why Monk got the attention from the voters instead of Gary Clark. Art Monk was the player that broke Steve Largent's reception record and was the first Wide Receiver to got 100 receptions in a season since AFL players did in the 1960s. Art also had way more receiving yards and receptions than Gary Clark. Art Monks gap between Clark and himself would've been even bigger without the 1982 NFL strike.
